Project Description:
Project consisted of a new 8,000 seat football stadium and track and field facility complete with press box, locker rooms, offices, training rooms, pedestrian corridors and mezzanines, drainage and water quality improvements, streetscape and parking lots on 14 acres immediately adjacent to the CSU-Pueblo campus. NorthStar was originally hired by the Friends of Football organization to prepare rezoning documents and drainage studies and designs as required to obtain land use approval from the City of Pueblo. NorthStar was subsequently hired, as the lead engineer, to complete all site and facility engineering, surveying construction management/inspections, and construction staking services for the project including: topographic surveys, site/stadium layouts (horizontal and vertical); track and field designs; pedestrian corridors and mezzanine designs; roadway and parking lot designs; design of overlot grading, water quality control, and erosion control improvements; and construction staking of all improvements. This project was completed utilizing a design build format allowing for value engineering to be completed during the design process. This facility has hosted NCAA Division II playoff football games in the fall of 2012 and 2013 as well as NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships in the Spring of 2013 and 2014.
